Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Accountant compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits, and reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
The Accountant performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings, and analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
The Accountant audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement and collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.
The Accountant installs, modifies, documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures and conducts studies and submits recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
The incumbent complies with DMS policies, local, state and federal regulations and laws related to work
duties and responsibilities.
The incumbent demonstrates commitment to customer satisfaction and quality as exhibited by internal and external customer feedback. This includes timely completion of mandatory education and current credentials.
The incumbent is in complies with safety and quality procedures and initiatives by strictly following safety policies, rules and safe work methods, making suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety, promptly correcting or reporting safety hazards or unsafe conditions, promptly reporting injuries for timely diagnoses and medical treatment, and by participating in safety processes such as safety committee, safety inspections, etc.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite.
