The Senior Manufacturing Engineer supports the key fundamentals of manufacturing; Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction initiatives through process development, process improvement projects and providing leadership and direction to the engineering department by mentoring and supervision. Projects are driven by process improvement, operations capital investment plan, overall ROI, product development initiatives and the operations business plan. This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to work well with others in a team environment, work independently to get things done, the ability to mentor others working on related projects, and the ability to work with flexibility in a fast-paced environment.

Highlights of your role

• Supervise the Engineers and Engineering Department, this includes participating in hiring/firing, developing training, appraising and disciplining.
• Identify, coordinate and drive continuous improvement activities within production and business processes.
• Develop facility layouts, process flows and Standard Work Procedures.
• Research new technologies and equipment that will streamline processes and eliminate waste.
• Lead the coordination, communication and execution of the operational process.
• Develop and communicate process change notifications for upstream operations and downstream communications to customers.
• Develop and coach others on lean concepts throughout the organization.
• Serve as Process Lead in PPT/IPT projects.
• Works on major projects and initiatives in broad areas of assignments and fields.
• Research new manufacturing technologies and techniques.
• Assists management in prioritization and coordination of improvement projects.
• Investigate quality concerns to determine root cause.
• Prevent quality issues from leaving facility.
  You're a good fit if you have
  
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering (Industrial/Manufacturing) required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) required.
  • Demonstrated, strong project management skills required.
  • Excellent self-direction and time management skills required.
