Field Training & Leadership Development Manager

Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for developing and implementing a field training & field level leadership development program for site-based employees. -Provide direction for leadership development for all field-based leaders (Foreman and below) and ensure training is delivered in an effective and timely manner. -Must understand Wanzek's business and the policies, procedures, and tasks required to maintain a safe, quality focused environment on site. Will work collaboratively with training team, safety team, site project management teams, field operations management and quality departments. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Collaborate with Learning Solutions Partner-Orientation to design site focused orientation and develop plan to implement company wide. Facilitate "train the trainer" - to ensure that site teams are adequately prepared to effectively deliver this programming. Collaborate with the LMS Administrator to use Wanzek University to implement and/or track completion of training on sites. Work with the Instructional Designers to develop and/or improve curriculum for front line field leadership development. Develop best practices and a pipeline for development in craft level training, including NCCER programs. Create and administer training curriculum for essential job functions performed by craft employees that are new to Wanzek or new to a position. Integrate Internal Work Practices (IWPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) into this curriculum. Collaborate with project team leadership to create training plan for projects during the pre-planning phase. Instruct and facilitate Train the Trainer for key leadership and trainers on the projects. Provide leadership and direction to field trainers including logistical staffing to facilitate site-based trainings on multiple projects throughout the company, in all divisions. Update LMS Administrator with all training documentation for new and existing employees. Other job duties as requested by the Director of Training & Development and/or Corporate Services Vice President. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent with minimum ten (10) years' experience relevant to the position or Associate's degree (A.A.), Bachelor's degree with minimum five (5) years of experience Experience should include both industrial construction or maintenance as well as training/educational Preferred NCCER Master Trainer Certification KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principles Functional computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Type and write reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar Excellent organizational skills and able to multi-task Effectively present information and respond to questions from employees Familiarity with quality, continuous improvement and a training background is helpful Valid Driver's License. (CDL Preferred) Proven work experience as a responsible manager for training of people Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives Up to 50% or more travel required. Travel will be to job site locations
