Starting Rate: $30.00
Pay Info: $12,000 sign on bonus with two year commitment.
This position will start in our pediatric unit with the intention
of moving to a RN role with NICU after one year of service. Our
A 40-bed Level IV NICU. The nurse ground/air transport team that
functions out of NICU brings in approximately 30% of the infants
admitted to the NICU. Conditions of the infants can include
prematurity, sepsis, respiratory distress, surgical emergencies,
birth-related trauma and other medical conditions.
RNs,Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Neonatologists work in
collaboration to provide direct care to infants.
Sanford Children s NICU offers an advanced level of equipment and
capabilities not found at every NICU, including: synchronized
intermittent mandatory ventilation, sophisticated pulmonary
functioning testing, high frequency oscillatory ventilation, nitric
oxide therapy, and cool cap system.
Staff Mix: RNs provide care to the intensive care infants as well
as the other levels of care. Our specially trained flight nurses
and Respiratory Therapists provide transport services to all of
North Dakota, South Dakota, and western Minnesota. Respiratory
therapists also staff the NICU at all times, providing respiratory
care and direct patient care. Neonatal Nurse Practitioners are on

Plans and coordinates patient care, assessment, education, triage
and various other nursing interventions
Collaborates with colleagues, including physicians, to plan,
implement and evaluate care
Empathetically cares for patients during all stages of preventive
services, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up
along the continuum of care
Demonstrates competency and uses comprehensive nursing
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including,
but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing
(AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN),
and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education
Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor s Degree in nursing
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of
Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess
multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific
competencies and certifications.
