A 25-bed unit specializing in the care of medical, hematology, and
oncology patients. This floor is a great place to refine your
assessment skills, become educated in the fast paced evolving
science of cancer treatment and management. Nurses who select
oncology have the opportunity to care for a group of medically
complex patients with rare disorders and cancers. These nurses are
working along world class physicians who are contributing to the
body of science that strives to cure cancer. These nurses have the
ability to grow into certified chemotherapy or oncology trained
nurses. This is a great place for nurses with a passion for
cancer/oncology. This unit sets you up for a future in ICU,
Infusion, Nurse Navigation, or the OR.

Responsibilities
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including,
but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing
(AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN),
and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education
Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor s Degree in nursing
preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of
Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess
multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific
competencies and certifications.
