Pay Information $2,826 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 2 years experience required, with prior ortho/neuro experience. License: Active ND or Compact RN License (or willingness to obtain) Certifications: Active BLS (must be AHA), Active ACLS (highly preferred), Active PALS (highly preferred) Must-Have: - General surgical, Neuro, and Ortho experience. - Large hospital experience with 250 beds and level 1 trauma status. - Experience working in an acute facility with 25 or more operating room suites. - Experience with robotics. - Strong well-rounded experience in cases including ENT. Description: Circulating nurses will document and care for patients in the operative setting. Duties include sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, and opening sterile supplies. Nurses will position patients for surgical procedures and document within an electronic record. The role involves utilizing and setting up operating room equipment as directed. The unit operates with computerized charting modeled after a leading system, using Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparoscopic equipment, arthroscopy equipment, and stealth navigation for neuro cases. Shifts will rotate between 0630-1500, 0900-1700, and 1100-1900 hours. Call shifts are from 1100-1900 with call to follow. No nights or weekend call is required. Travelers are expected to manage a room with available resources. Nurses may float to other departments as necessary. The operating room consists of 25 suites, with an average of 75 to 100 cases per day. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 1. Surgical attire will be provided, and no acrylic nails are allowed. The orientation program consists of 4-6 months. Post-orientation, staff members should be able to perform all core and special team cases with expected outcomes. Expectations include working 8 to 10 hour shifts and the possibility of staying late as needed, which is considered an extension of the regular shift.
