Job Description:
Good Samaritan Health Center seeks a dedicated and skilled
Certified Medication Assistant to join our team. This role is
critical in our mission to deliver top-quality care and holistic
wellness outcomes, particularly for underserved communities. The
Certified Medication Assistant will be responsible for managing and
administering medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare
providers, while ensuring compliance with legal regulations and
facility policies. Our ideal candidate will have a strong passion
for community health, a deep understanding of patient care, and the
ability to operate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Administer prescribed medications to patients and maintain related
medical records under supervision. Verify identity of patient
receiving medication and record name, dosage, and time of
administration on specified forms or records. Clarify any
medication order issues with the registered nurse or patient's
doctor. Monitor patients for reactions or side effects of
medication administered and report any adverse reactions. Maintain
an organized and clean medicine supply station. Participate in
educational activities to update knowledge of medications and their
effects. Adhere to all facility policies and procedures including
privacy and compliance standards. Proficient in administering
medications and understanding of dosage and safety guidelines.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent
communication skills, both written and verbal. Capable of
conducting clinical tasks with precision. Empathy and interpersonal
skills to interact effectively with patients. Medical Insurance
Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certification
as a Medication Assistant from an accredited program is
mandatory.
