Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Fargo, North Dakota. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/27/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, rotating - Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview - Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs - Hours: 36 hrs/wk - Start Date: Apr 27, 2026 - Length: 13 weeks - Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Admissions Unit position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of Med/Surg experience and Epic proficiency. Details - 15-bed admissions unit (Unit 2A) within an acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital setting - Unit receives patients ready for discharge from the ER who have not yet been assigned to a specific inpatient unit - All 15 rooms are private - Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on days and 6:1 on nights - Charting is done in Epic; experience is required - Zebra phones used for communication, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Aleris IV pumps - 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights (0700–1930 or 1900–0730) - Every other weekend required - Every other holiday required - No on-call responsibilities - Floating to other Med/Surg units as needed - 13-week contract Requirements - Active ND or compact RN license required - Current BLS certification (AHA only) - Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience required - Level I Trauma Center experience required - Epic EMR experience required - Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment - Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the specialty within the last 3 years - Certifications must be active at time of consideration — no pending certifications accepted Additional Information - Nurses perform initial admissions assessments and provide care for patients until they are transferred to their designated inpatient unit - Navy blue scrubs are required - Unit is a newer Med/Surg admissions department with a fast-paced workflow - Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position - Candidates living between 60 and 80 miles from the facility may be considered but at a reduced travel pay rate - Previous employment at any Sanford Health location must be disclosed during the application process American Traveler Job ID P-691013.
