Overview Open & closing dates Opening and closing dates08/03/2020 to 10/31/2020 Service Excepted Pay scale & grade VM 15 Salary $240,000 to $260,000 per year Appointment type Permanent Work schedule Full-Time Duties SummaryWork Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1630Responsibilities · Physician will provide consultation services and follow up of medical subspecialty patients, in his or her designated field, in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting, at the VA Medical center in Fargo, ND or one of the affiliated CBOCs (Community Based Outpatient Clinics). This may involve care provided by TeleMedicine technology and may include care provided to other VA facilities within VISN 23 as dictated by workload, utilization etc.· Typical work hours are Monday to Friday Friday 8 - 4:30 PM. Alternative work hours, if desired, should be agreed upon at the time of joining. Each full time provider is required to work a minimum of 80 hrs per pay period (every two weeks) unless on leave status. On call responsibilities are specialty specific and may involve duty outside of typical business hours dependent upon the needs of the Service Line.· During the course of employment, participation in activities/committees/boards/ projects pertinent to the sub-specialty may be necessary as dictated by strategic or other initiatives/taskings.· When working with inpatients provider is expected to discuss the plan of care, recommendations etc with the Hospitalists so as to facilitate discharge planning and other interdisciplinary patient care plan activities.· Physicians may be assigned duty as a supervising or collaborating physician for mid-level providers. Physicians are expected to provide clinical oversight and review. Supervising or collaborating responsibilities and performance will be noted in the physician's performance evaluation.· Providers are expected to act as "surrogates" for the patient's of their colleagues, when one or more of their colleagues are on leave.· A progress note must be entered on all inpatients on which the medical subspecialist rounds during weekdays, weekends or holidays. Timely documentation is necessary in all areas in accordance with departmental policy. All administrative work should be completed in a timely fashion. The discharge summary may be dictated. All other inpatient documentation should be entered by the physician into the medical record directly via CPRS. Prohibited abbreviations should not to be used.· Quality of care will meet professional standards at all times.· All physicians will work within their privileges at all times, unless necessitated by an emergency. Our CBOCs are located across North Dakota and northwest Minnesota.The Fargo VA HCS oversees the provision of health care to more than 36,000 Veterans living in North Dakota, 17 counties in northwest Minnesota, and one northeast South Dakota county. The Fargo VA HCS has approximately 300,000 outpatient visits annually. The Medical Center is affiliated with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, providing training to medical students, and Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Surgery resident physicians. The facility is also a training facility for nursing and allied health care students.The Medical Center is located in a quiet north Fargo neighborhood near the Red River within walking distance to a bus stop, parks, walking/bike paths, and a golf course. The Medical Center is also just down the street from North Dakota State University, the Fargodome, restaurants, hotels, and downtown Fargo.About Fargo:If you're looking for a variety, North Dakota has it all!
