Responsibilities: Assist lenders on loan work outs, including but not limited to bankruptcy foreclosures and; participate in Loan Resolution Committee meetings Review and file pleadings, petitions and other documents relevant to collection actions on behalf of the Bank Mange outside counsel on major litigation and acting as liaison with management; analyzing the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents. Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals Providing training and clarification to the company on legal topics and legal language Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.) Research and evaluate different legal risk factors regarding business decisions and operations Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights, including but not limited to assistance in drafting and review of loan documents Follows policies and procedures; Upholds organizational values; Works with ethics and integrity. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Works well in group problem solving situations. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions; Demonstrates group presentation skills. Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information. Maintain confidentiality Uphold FIBT's Mission, Vision and Corporate Values Follow policies and procedures and perform responsibilities with ethics and integrity Observes safety and security procedures Is consistently at work on time and ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university required. Must be licensed to practice law in the states with which FIBT currently has branch locations (ND, MN, and AZ). Minimum 5-10 years prior experience in banking, private practice with litigation and bankruptcy expertise Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
