Job DescriptionUnit Supervisor IValley City, North Dakota - Full Time Productive Resources (www.productiveresources.com) is seeking a candidate to be part of our engineering team at our customer's facility in Valley City, North Dakota. As a member of our team, the selected candidate will supervise unskilled production, maintenance, or warehouse employees. Less specialized knowledge, small in scope, more routine. Supervise simple, standardized, single function. Very small number of direct reports. (Example is very small warehouse operation) This is a full-time position that is indefinite in duration with the opportunity of professional growth, and additional opportunities within our organization. Duties:

• Supervise the execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in safety, quality, schedule, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Administer employee policies, practices, procedures, and work rules appropriate for the unit.
• Monitor individual performance and takes corrective action including discipline, as needed, and responds to complaints to ensure the Company and employees adheres to policies, practices, procedures, and work rules.
• Establish employee environment regarding communications, feedback, and overall guidance.
• Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instruction and tools to successfully do their job.
• Work with Safety Team in meeting company standards and enforces safety regulations to prevent and eliminate injuries.
• Resolve various systems, parts, people, or process issues to correct deficiencies, reduce costs, improve processes/performance.
• Manage and control costs to stay within the department operating budget targets.
• Coordinate departmental continuous improvement plans and activities. Requirements:
  • Must be able to communicate well.
  • Must be able to make decisions and problem solve.
  • Must be able to ensure Safety and Quality in all processes.
  • Must be able to stay calm during tense situations and the ability to treat others well even during tense interactions.
  • First shift position has proven supervisory experience with facilities maintenance OR second shift position have proven supervisory experience with facilities maintenance and/or industrial paint operations.
  • Supervisory experience on shop floor.
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Comfortable giving work direction on shop floor, and able to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to work hours of first shift (6:00am - 4:30pm) M-F OR second shift (4:30pm - 2:00am) M-F.
  • 2-3 years of related experience. As a condition of employment consideration, Productive Resources conducts pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug test.
