Overview
Work in the heart of by joining our new Upper Midwest Catholic
Health Initiatives (CHI) Internal Travel Program!
As an Invasive Technologist Traveler in our Travel Program
throughout our Midwest locations at CHI Health, now part of
CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives and
Dignity Health, you will bring your clinical expertise to provide
exceptional patient care across multiple units.
You'll join an established team of Invasive Technologists i n our
Upper Midwest Travel Float Pool, who share your passion in caring
for patients experiencing cardiovascular issues. Our Invasive
Technologists are highly trained when it comes to delivering
specialized heart-related diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Your success in this role comes from a blend of your keen
assessment skills and a sense of urgency. You have the ability to
remain calm and focused in emergent situations. Your critical
thinking skills enhance your care plans as you know what to do as
well as the expected outcomes.
The Upper Midwest Internal Travel Program is a skilled workforce
pool of CHI Health clinicians who take temporary assignments
throughout 29 hospitals across the Midwest Division, in North
Dakota, Minnesota, and occasionally in Nebraska and Iowa. The 6-12
week assignments will be based on patient need with our travelers
going where staff is needed most. The Midwest Internal Travel
Program allows us to respond more quickly to the greatest areas of
need with qualified clinicians who know our policies, procedures,
and core values.
Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
May be eligible for up to $10,000 in Educational Assistance
Travel Differential, Housing Stipend and a $10,000 SignOn Bonus to
new hires who meet the requirements
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Assists with pre- procedure education and preparing patient for
procedure.
- Collaborates with other staff to assure patient has a thorough
understanding of procedure and is able to answer questions as
needed.
- Assures patient is positioned properly for the procedure.
- Assures EKG electrodes are properly placed and cardiac
electrodes correctly applied.
- Assures skin is prepped and sterilized appropriately prior to
procedural draping.
- Sets up patient and sterile equipment in accordance to the
performing physician's preferences.
- Scrubs and assists physicians during procedures.
- Assists physician in sterile placement of invasive and
hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Uses fine motor skills to assist physician with the
placement/deployment/use of invasive catheters, wires, balloons,
stents, structural heart devices, Intra-aortic balloon
counter-pulsation equipment, percutaneous left ventricular assist
devices, implantable cardiac devices, and electrophysiology
catheters/3-D intra-cardiac conduction mapping.
- Performs monitoring function throughout procedures. Documents
clinical information in patient record.
- Operates hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Recognize and report changes in the cardiac rhythm.
- Recognize and report changes in hemodynamic waveforms.
- Accurately documents the flow of events from start thru
completion of procedure.
- Performs arterial and/or venous sheath removal utilizing
deployment of closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical
compression and transport patients.
- Performs daily maintenance, quality assurance testing,
equipment cleaning, and supply re-stocking.
- Effectively communicates and works cooperatively with team
members, patients, families, guests, and providers.
- On-call rotation may be required and must be able to respond to
emergent within 30 minutes of notification.
- Participates in all safety, security, and infection control
programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided
by the department.
- Demonstrates work practices consistent with CHI Health and
department-specific safety, security, infection control, and HIPAA
policies.
- Resource floating within the metro area may be required in
order to provide staffing support to other campuses. Qualifications
- Graduate of an AMA approved program in Radiologic
Technology.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist R T(R) credential from the
ARRT or a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
credential from CCI.
- New graduates who are registry eligible may be considered.
RT(R) or RCIS credential must be obtained within 6 months of start
date.
- For those who hold an RTR credential, must possess a Me dical
Radiographer License in Nebraska and/or a Diagnostic Radiographer
Permit in Iowa to practice. License or permit must be held in the
state(s) in which you practice.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare
providers is required upon hire .
- Prior experience in the cardiac cath l ab or interventional
radiology.
- Knowledge of radiographic views and equipment.
- Knowledge of EKG rhythms and abnormalities.
- Knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy.
- AH A Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days

Pay Range
$25.18 - $36.52 /hour
