SUPERINTENDENT MECHANICAL
The Senior Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for planning
and oversight of all aspects of Mechanical/Plumbing/Fire
Suppression work on assigned project including safety,
Subcontractor field management, schedule and budget management.
This includes the pre-planning for all stages of the project (from
pre to post construction). The Senior Mechanical Superintendent
works diligently with Project Management and Field Supervision to
meet all goals set for the specific project and manage all field
operational duties.
Qualifications:
Required:
* High school diploma or GED required
* 15+ years of construction-related experience as Superintendent
with 10+ years within Mechanical work with General Contractor or
Mechanical/Plumbing Subcontractor
* Proficient in computer applications, including Outlook, Excel,
Word, and Bluebeam (or equivalent software)
* Ability to Supervise multiple Superintendents and or Assistants
on larger scale projects
* Ability to organize and facilitate Superintendent meetings
* Assist with Human Development by mentoring Superintendents,
Assistants and Foreman's through various training programs both
internally and externally.
* Demonstrated experience initiating and driving continuous
improvement
Preferred:
* Two or four-year degree in construction related field
* 20+ years of field-related experience
* Ability to assist in adjusting field labor from one project to
another
* Ability to navigate through REVIT and AutoCAD documents
* Experience with Construction Management Software (Procore,
AutoDesk,etc)
* Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, etc.)
* Current OSHA 30 certification
* Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills
* Positive attitude, strong work ethic, innovative and forward
thinking
* Current CPR/First Aid training
Office and Travel:
This is a travel position for our National Operating unit. Project
site is in Ellendale North Dakota. Position included GSA per diem
rates and travel home every three weeks (long weekend) provided by
company. Project could be as long as 2+ years. All National
Operating Unit employees are traveling personnel.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
* Assist Field Operations Team all Pre-Construction related tasks
including building crisis management plan, schedule, site logistics
plan, site specific rules and regulations, and safety plan.
* Review mechanical/electrical (as well as CSA) design drawings and
specifications
* Comment on potential electrical code conflicts/requirements with
the design
* Comment on potential electrical constructability issues with the
design
* Compare and evaluate options for electrical systems as
appropriate for project goals
* MEP contractor selection
* Assist in selection of MEP subcontractors for bidding
* Assist PMs prepare/develop MEP request for proposals (RFPs) to
MEP subcontractors
* Assist PMs prepare and complete Scope of Works for
mechanical/electrical contractor selection
* Review Scope Cards and evaluate proposals are complete and are
being provided by mechanical/electrical contractors
* Evaluate feasibility of voluntary alternates provided by
mechanical/electrical contractors
* Provide RFP analysis and recommendation for MEP subcontractor
selection
* Co-Manage and oversee McGough field staff, subcontractors and
suppliers engaged in assigned projects. This includes conducting
daily huddles, weekly work plans, job site coordination and
delivery of materials.
* Lead with creating Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for
Mechanical work including procurement, construction, energization
and commissioning. Work with Scheduling and Operations team for the
overall development of the schedule. Update schedule as needed
* Work with Project Management team throughout project including
selecting subcontractors, writing RFIs (requests for information),
developing and tracking procurement of materials, tools and
equipment.
* Work with Quality Control team to ensure project-specific
requirements are met. Implementing site specific Quality Control
plan with QC department and Project Management. Development of
Procore (or equivalent) activities such as Pre-Install Plans, First
Work Inspections, Inspections, Observations (issues) and Punch
list.
* Ensure all on-site documentation including drawings, logs,
inspection books are updated and current. Assist in the
documentation of As-Built drawings.
* Ensure alignment of budget set for the project including labor,
materials and equipment. Work with Project Management team to
assess weekly/monthly cost projections and expenditures. Manage
overall McGough site labor/material and equipment budget for
duration of project.
* Work with construction team through project closeout and
commissioning
* Assist 3rd party commissioning agents in scheduling and
completing commissioning logs
* Assist in gathering and compiling closeout documentation for
owner
* Coordinate Owner training and transitional services
* Provide intentional leadership for project team in the areas of
Lean methodologies being employed onsite, standard work and
Pull-Plan sessions.
* Drive a safe environment by leading activities including job
safety meetings and orientations. Ensure all OSHA and other
required rules and regulations are met.
* Build and maintain strong relationship with clients, design team
and subcontractors.
* Support and follow standard work.
* Participate and support implementation of Lean and continuous
improvement culture.
* Foster strong partnerships with fellow McGough employees.
