Health to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Oakes, North Dakota,

Must-Have: Must be confident in skills such as assessments,
infusion pumps, and medication administration. Strong social skills
and teamwork ability are essential. Reliability is crucial.
Description: This role involves working in a medical surgical unit
with 20 beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. RNs are required
to titrate drips, including Insulin, Heparin, Levophed, and
Amiodarone. Mindray monitors are used on the unit, and nurses are
responsible for reading strips and documentation. Charge nurses are
present 24/7 and do not take patient assignments as they oversee
the ER as well. There are nurse aids available on the unit who
check vital signs, chart, and document intake and output as well as
activities of daily living. Nurses manage respiratory equipment and
administer respiratory treatments. Shifts are scheduled 6 weeks in
advance, with block scheduling available depending on staffing
needs. Weekend assignments occur every third weekend, with shifts
available both days and nights. Holiday work is encouraged as part
of the rotation. Nurses are expected to float to the ER when
needed, though not always the first to float. A flexible approach
is appreciated in this environment, where teamwork is essential for
patient care. Experience in critical access facilities is valued. 5
